Marie demonstrates a true commitment to her chosen legal specialty. Working exclusively in family law, Marie has a particular interest in resolving complex financial and property settlements following the breakdown of a marriage or de facto relationship, and parenting matters.

Marie’s extensive experience specialising in family law has demonstrated the power of negotiation and mediation as a first response to resolving difficult issues. Since commencing Sambanis Family Law in 2012, this approach has been shown to be highly effective in minimising client costs and reducing the likelihood of extensive litigation. KATHRYN MCLOUGHLIN | SOLICITOR

Kathryn was admitted to practice law in 2017, having graduated from the Queensland University of Technology with a dual degree in Business and Law. Kathryn holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice and takes an empathetic approach in assisting clients through the often emotional and difficult landscape of family law.

Kathryn is responsible for all Applications for Divorce, Family Dispute Resolution Conferences, Parenting, Child Protection, and Domestic Violence Applications. She is well rehearsed in assisting clients through the stages of these specialty areas of their family law, child protection and domestic violence matters and often appears in the Family and Federal Circuit Courts of Australia, Brisbane Magistrates Court and various regional Childrens Courts.

DEBRA ROBERTSON | SOLICITOR

Debra was admitted to practice law in 2019 having graduated from Southern Cross University and completing the Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice at the Queensland University of Technology. Prior to completing a Bachelor of Laws, Debra was an academic for approximately fifteen years in the School of Justice at the Queensland University of Technology. Debra’s PhD examined women’s homicide and violence, the stories told about women in the courtroom, and the impact of violence committed by and against women. Debra’s research cemented a commitment to practicing in family law, and Debra brings a deeper understanding of the potential impact of family proceedings on parties.
